United States History
Our United States History course covers the major events and people that have shaped our country. Students will analyze primary sources, debate historical controversies, and develop their own interpretations. This class meets once a week for 6 weeks. Each class meeting is 45 minutes.

Our Courses
At Ascend Academy, we offer social studies courses to 12-18 year old students through live online video classes. These are designed to engage learners and build vital skills that will prepare them for higher education and life. Students can expect to have opportunities to grow skills like communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem solving throughout their courses. Designing this intentionally allows there to be an interactive life to each class. We know each student can contribute to a robust classroom environment where we can learn from each other. American Government
Our American Government course teaches about the foundation, structure and operation of our government. Students will analyze primary sources, examine individual and state rights, debate efficiency and effectiveness of government, and develop their own interpretations and stances of government policies and procedures. This class meets once a week for 6 weeks. Each class meeting is 45 minutes.
